ABOUT BESSONOVA OUTDOOR IMMERSION SCHOOL

"For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them". Aristotle: Nichomachean Ethics, around 350 BC

Bessonova Outdoor Immersion School (BOIS) was founded in 2016 by active mothers, teachers, and a specialist in educational sciences, who wanted to bring innovative outdoor education and forest school model in Belgium and meet a community need for alternative school options. This pioneer group was inspired by nature-oriented educational programs, widely spread in Northern Europe, where children have more space and freedom to play, discover, and grow in accordance to their individual rhythm and capacity. Since then, the BOIS' focus has been on the 'whole child': an holistic approach to learning not only limited to academic ability.

In January 2018 we are launching our pilot project "Graines de BOS": two days a week of trilingual outdoor education for children from 3 to 6 years old (select "Graines de Bos "on the menu to get more info).

In September we are going to open the first Forest School in Belgium: five days a week outdoor education inspired by Montessori approach.
